The Lesser Scaup relocated to Noah’s Lake today. Seen this afternoon from the hide amongst a scrum of ducks in the ice free centre of the lake. Its previous haunt at Long Drove was frozen over.

Replying to Sean Davies: Yes I know that, but it is an outlying part of the reserve that cannot be reached/accessed from the main Ham Wall Reserve. Also there is no general access, the lake can only be viewed from the roadway which is regularly used by large lorries. Parking here is very limited, so please park responsibly and not block any gateway.

Spot on with the directions but just to point out Long Drove is part of RSPB Ham Wall.

A female Lesser Scaup was found y’day and still present today, associating with Tufted Duck on Long Drove, the large roadside lake along Sharpham Drove at Map Ref: ST45793860.
From Walton Village drive north on Whitley Rd then fork right on to Sharpham Lane and just after passing West Park Farm the Lane goes downhill where Long Drove large lake is on the left (small fishing lake opposite) just before the Lane turns abruptly right.
