Seem to have been no further sightings since a negative report from 11am yesterday. (Definitely looks nothing like the Beeding Hill individual).

Many thanks for all the information posted here and that on Twitter.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching and observing this bird last evening and again this morning. Although it can disappear over to Lydeard Hill for sometime, it always seems to return. Lovely to see everyone giving this obliging bird plenty of room to hunt and catch small items of prey such as bees and grubs.  Hopefully, if not disturbed then it will hang around for others to enjoy.  Also Cothelstone Hill is such a spectacular site to sit, relax and enjoy the views.

Fathers day treat! An early visit to Cothelstone Hill gave great views of the RF. Falcon, several singing Tree Pipits and juvenile Redstarts, Stonechats and Linnets. On to Otterhampton Marsh where I expected to see Avocets and Little Ringed Plover which I did, but thanks to Nick Smith, I also saw a super summer plumaged Curlew Sandpiper. It was being given a hard time by Avocets and Oystercatchers when it repeatedly landed close to chicks.

Seen again today. There are some great photos on Facebook, especially good one on wildlife sightings UK, that shows underwing & tail.

I had wondered the same, however analysis of the moult and wear (extent of retained juv auxillaries, shape of markings on retrices, wear to p2 on left wing, central 2 tail feathers are adult etc) would suggest that it is a diiferent bird to any of the recent individuals in southern England (no match to photos online on usual channels), and probably another new individual.

I wonder if this is the same bird that was seen here in West Sussex. Last sighting here was around 16th June…...

Great find Jeremy, showing extremely well this morning, hovering 3m directly above my head at one point. Appreciate the news getting out so rapidly, and some responsible socially distanced twitching!
