This morning on a mild 1st February, 25 (!!) Mandarins (sadly not the highest Somerset count ever, but impressive); 6 Goosanders (2m,4f/juv); 3m Shoveler; 10+ Teal; 30+ Tufted Duck; Not seen a Pochard here for several years; 1 GCG, 11 Cormorants, and 6+ Heron nests occupied, with several other herons loafing on the shoreline.  4 Mistle Thrushes clearly doing territory/bonding flights.

16 Goosanders (4m, 12f/juv); 18+ teal; 12 mandarins; 2 little grebe; 10 cormorants; no pochard; at Orchardleigh yesterday afternoon.
