The 2 Glossy Ibis still present this morning, as was a single drake Garganey and 52 Blk-t Godwits, plus 2 Grt W Egrets. The Otter showed at about 11:20, fishing in the far RH corner and eventually running across the far RH mud to disappear into the reedbed. At least 2 Bearded Tits on 70-Acre (behind the elevated hide). Walking back towards the Ashcott Cnr car park at 11:45 surprised to see a juvenile female Goshawk rise up above Meare Heath eastern tree-line and circle in a soaring flight gradually gaining height until but a speck in the sky, it then slowly drifted away to the north.

At last the scrape water level has come down enough to expose some mud. ( problems with valves apparently! ) Today 72 Black Tailed G’Wits were present together with 2 Glossy Ibis and a few sundry duck. yesterday following a surge in water level compared with last Friday one Redshank was here. Catcott which has looked right for waders for the last two weeks had none at lunchtime today.
