Yes, I’ve seen pics & it is a Cattle egret. A lot of UK cows are moved off fields during winter, so they do have to find alternative food sources
30th December my first visit to Orchardleigh lake near Frome. There was a small Egret feeding at the water’s edge which I assumed was a Little Egret until noticed its yellow bill. 500mm photos though very dull and distant cropped pics have been confirmed on UK Bird ID Facebook site as Cattle Egret. Seems unusual behaviour and location, but the orange (and rather stubby) bill is definite, and it’s too small a bird for a GWE.
