Juvenile shag on the Axbridge Tower this morning but couldn’t find the red crested pochard or red necked grebe. Chap told me the latter was by the Cheddar Tower but I didn’t see it there.

Smart and rather late juv. Black tern this am, a Common sand, as well as 500+ hirrundines, most had disappeared by 8am. Red necked grebe and Shag still present and correct, both res ticks for me - suspect I am not far off of 150 species for the site now!

Red necked grebe moved from right of the Axbridge gate towards the sailing club early evening. The shag was near the Axbridge Tower and the red crested pochard near the spit

Red necked grebe was with a great crested and coots close in by the Axbridge gate. Couldn’t stay but was told the red-crested pochard was close in further round towards the sailing club.

‘Twitched’ Brent Goose yesterday mid-day and as a bonus got our first ‘autumn’ stonechat (female) and probably the last two spotted flycatchers - both just north of Cheddar Tower.
