a single male goosander this morning, though there have been as many as 14 all week albiet about an hour earlier [6:30 - 7:00] in the lane, 2 greenfinch single LT Tit, splendid looking male Bullfinch,wren, GSwoody and 3 meadow pipit
two pairs of goldeneye this am, close to Axbridge tower and one male goosander
possible sighting of a female hen harrier early [08:00 ish] Sunday morning in middlemoor lane approx 100 yards from the entrance to fishing lakes ,all characteristics, but no camera for piccies unfortunately,... info from a friend who spotted the bird
Reservoir like a mill pond this morning and liberally decorated with feathers from the overnight roost. 7 little egrets flew into flooded field below western bank; 1 shelduck; and great spotted woodpecker drumming south of Middle Moor Lane - my first drumming this year.
This morning, shortly after first light, 6 goldeneyes, including 3 adult males. Three goosanders (2 ad males) flew in from the west, circled then flew off again to the south. Also 1 little egret in one of the flooded fields below the western bank.
There were a couple of reed buntings in the trees/bushes in the Bristol Water treatment plant area at the end of the Axbridge car park when I passed through the adjacent field on a walk this morning

13 mixed goosander this late afternoon and 2 RC pochard…..........ALSO!!! A note to those visiting, there are car bandits active in the Cemtery car park, a group of walkers had their front passenger window shattered this afternoon, and things were stolen from the vehicle, apparently they had left items visible on a seat,

3 drake Red-crested Pochard off the sailing club; female Madarin off the sailing club entrance, and 4 Goldeneye along the far southern side.
Very pleased to see a Little Owl in one of the big trees in the field by the pumping station this morning. We haven’t seen one in the area for over a year and had feared that they had been displaced.

Low numbers of duck in the rain early this morning. No Goldeneye, no Red Crested Pochrd and no Gooseanders.
