Reservoir like a mill pond this morning and liberally decorated with feathers from the overnight roost.  7 little egrets flew into flooded field below western bank; 1 shelduck; and great spotted woodpecker drumming south of Middle Moor Lane - my first drumming this year.

This morning, shortly after first light, 6 goldeneyes, including 3 adult males.  Three goosanders (2 ad males) flew in from the west, circled then flew off again to the south.  Also 1 little egret in one of the flooded fields below the western bank.

There were a couple of reed buntings in the trees/bushes in the Bristol Water treatment plant area at the end of the Axbridge car park when I passed through the adjacent field on a walk this morning

13 mixed goosander this late afternoon and 2 RC pochard…..........ALSO!!! A note to those visiting, there are car bandits active in the Cemtery car park, a group of walkers had their front passenger window shattered this afternoon, and things were stolen from the vehicle, apparently they had left items visible on a seat,

Very pleased to see a Little Owl in one of the big trees in the field by the pumping station this morning. We haven’t seen one in the area for over a year and had feared that they had been displaced.

Also:
Red Crested Pochard 2
Goldeneye 1m
Gooseander 2m

“Best” birds were:
Kingfisher near the rugby pitches
4 Bullfinches in the same area
Grey Wagtail
3 Green Woodpeckers
Great Spotted Woodpecker

Happy New Year everyone
