Over 600 Avocet on mud at Steart & 19 Grey Plover on spit at lunchtime - latter flew to other side, presumably joining the larger numbers reported around the Breach today. Also c.10 Skylark (but stll no Richards Pipit for me) on saltmarsh & a Peregrine sat on Steart Point
Plus a Common Sandpiper on the Brue with the Burnham Redshank roost & another 7 Avocet by the confluence
A couple of hours up on the Huntspill Sea Wall, Monday 11th, afternoon, Short Eared Owl, a couple of Grey Plover but I thought this surprising, walking back to Highbridge along the River Brue a bat flew across the river, over towards the Apex Ponds, not sure where it would of come from, apart from an old wooden boat that’s been on the riverbank for years,
