A Spotted Redshank and 3 Ruff were on the breach lagoon this morning
Nearby, 13 super Wheatears between Stoford and Hinkley this morning, loads of Chiffchaffs (40?!), a Peregrine, 2 light-bellied Brents and a singing Stonechat.
On Otterhampton, 1 imm male Merlin, ad & imm Spoonbill, a few LRP and plenty of Avocets. Plus a smart Bar-headed Goose!

Greenfinches at Stockland and the most northern car park.
Male Hen Harrier past the breach viewing screens, hunted the saltmarsh to the NE, then flew across the Parrett.

Spoonbill still present today from Quantock hide. Also today 3 Knot Steart Point, 3 Spotted Redshanks, 4 Black-tailed Godwits, 2 Marsh Harriers the Breach, 2 Short-eared Owls and male Hen Harrier Wall Common area.
Spoonbill still present west of the Quantock hide, Merlin perched and flying close to the footpath near the Quantock Hide, and a Bar-headed goose among small flock of Canada Geese on the bank of the Parrett beyond Otterhampton Marsh all on 06/02/2023
Otterhampton spectacular again on 27th with huge numbers of GP and Lapwing. Also juv Spoonbill and a large Ruff, presumably a male.
At least 3 shorties have been present since the cold snap, the hen harrier passes through occasionally too
Up to 3 Short-eared Owl present today. One was flying over the beach and car park north of Wall Common and the other two were in the marsh to the east.
On the marsh I also saw a male Hen Harrier, a female Marsh Harrier, a Kestrel, lots of Starlings and good numbers of Meadow Pipits and Skylarks.
Hundreds of Golden Plover in flight towards Otterhampton Marsh.
