This evening an adult redshank near the Axbridge car park and a female shelduck in the southwest corner. Also common sandpiper south of Cheddar Tower.

Cycle path this morning, a pair of Bullfinch fledgelings and a very agitated group of LT Tits .... water has dropped about a foot [30cm]or so in the last week, more “marshy type conditions” beyond the boathouse , but no “island” growing as yet,
A single Little Egret prowling around the Cheddar Tower early doors all this week, and as the water level drops so the beginings of the muddy flat starts to appear,currently in a reeded marsh effect state, with the ducks marauding through it at the moment
fledgling Blackcaps along the cycle path early doors today and a Whitethroat singing near the construction site boundary , plenty of Blue and LT Tits about
[08:00] 4 Blackcaps seen and a few others heard in full voice, again along the cycle path, small group of LLTits and several Wrens and a Dunnock close to the new building works
Tree creeper and a rather splendid looking Thrush along the cycle path, a pair of Grey Wagtails between the boat house and Axbridge gate, large gathering of Swifts[approx 10/15] and House Martin and Swallow, around 40/50 birds in total and a couple of Meadow Pipits
Little owl at 11.00 am. Flew to the ponds by the southwest corner. Also several singing reed warblers in Phragmites strip on west side.
Red-crested pochard male again near sailing centre. 2 singing reed warblers on west side. One in the thin line of reeds, the other in thick bramble nearby. Both sets of ducklings still seem to be doing well at Cheddar tower.
2 Sanderling by sailing club this afternoon, partially moulted & the brood of 5 mallard are now quite large. Plenty of Sailors / windsurfers in the decent winds.
This evening a sanderling at the southern end of the reservoir - just beginning to moult from winter/juvenile plumage. Also 6 common sands south of Cheddar tower. 4 seen to the north earlier on with female yellow wagtail. Duckling broods of 5 and 9 still seem to be intact!
No sign of LRP early afternoon. 2 dunllins, 1 common sandpiper, 1 yellow wag, 1 or 2 white wags. RC Pochard at Cheddar tower and then on opposite bank. Mallard with 9 ducklings still at Cheddar tower.. 5 of the brood of 7 left on the opposite bank.

single plover this morning, flitting and stopping off along the waters edge between to two towers [7:30 - 8:15]
This evening 8 summer plumage dunlin near Cheddar tower with about 8 common sandpipers. Four yellow wagtails and one whit wagtail amongst the pieds.
