This evening an adult redshank near the Axbridge car park and a female shelduck in the southwest corner. Also common sandpiper south of Cheddar Tower.

(Should we start a new Autumn 2021 thread?)

Cycle path this morning, a pair of Bullfinch fledgelings and a very agitated group of LT Tits .... water has dropped about a foot [30cm]or so in the last week, more “marshy type conditions”  beyond the boathouse , but no “island”  growing as yet,

A single Little Egret prowling around the Cheddar Tower early doors all this week, and as the water level drops so the beginings of the muddy flat starts to appear, currently in a reeded marsh effect state, with the ducks marauding through it at the moment

Red-crested pochard male again near sailing centre. 2 singing reed warblers on west side. One in the thin line of reeds, the other in thick bramble nearby. Both sets of ducklings still seem to be doing well at Cheddar tower.

This evening a sanderling at the southern end of the reservoir - just beginning to moult from winter/juvenile plumage. Also 6 common sands south of Cheddar tower. 4 seen to the north earlier on with female yellow wagtail. Duckling broods of 5 and 9 still seem to be intact!
