Treecreeper and singing nuthatch in trees just west of sailing club. 65 shoveler on reservoir. No sign of little gull today, but it was there yesterday along with 50ish sand martins
Little Gull still present this afternoon, along with a male Goldeneye, 37 shoveler & 13 pochard (latter two mostly males), seen between Cheddar tower & sailing club. Also 1 Canada goose in centre & was 1 little grebe south side.
walk toward the river this am, via StubbingtonDrove, a flock of around 25 Redwing, a Male reed Bunting, several skylarks [audible only] Chiff Chaff,x2 , and a Heron ,popped up on the reservoir onmmy wak back and what appeared to be a Little Grebe, close to the waterfall, heading into the middle of the water
1st winter Little Gull at Cheddar Reservoir this afternoon, around 24 Sand Martin as well.
Saw one little gull late afternoon out in the middle of the reservoir
No sign this morning of the two first winter little gulls from the weekend but 2 Med gulls,, one adult and one near adult. Singing blackcap on the Strawberry Line and many chiffchaffs. Still about 10 shovelers..
around a dozen sand’s this morning along the cycle path , several Chiff Chaff in good voice
At least 45 shoveler still, but far fewer pochard by Cheddar tower (didn’t walk around other side to see if they were sheltering from wind). Much calmer along strawberry line with singing chiffchaff, a nuthatch, Long Tailed Tit & a few redwing, plus green woodie heard axbridge end.
Yesterday (6th march) one white wagtail amongst the many pieds and 25+ sand martins
approx 50 shoveller this morning and a single white Goosander, a greenfinch calling in the row of conifer in the sports field and GS woody in the trees by Axbridge gate

Many chiffchatts feeding early morning in the cut area north of the rugby pitch, and a barn owl hunting over the fields from the southeast corner.
Still 24 shoveler off the sailing club & 80 pochard by Cheddar tower (& 2 the far side, not together). Plus a green woodpecker heard & a half-hearted singing chiffchaff.
Four Mediterranean gulls in the middle of the reservoir this afternoon viewed from south of Cheddar tower, but distant and poor light. Two with partial hoods.. Also pair of goosander.
