Stonechat on the rakes & more willow warblers that side. Plus a Cuckoo calling on north side of Blackdown.

Our arrival at Nether Wood this morning was greeted by Common Whitethroat, Willow Warbler and a male Redstart singing and showing superbly from a tree-top.
As we left about 45 minutes later a Mistle Thrush started up.  In between we heard Blackcap, Chiffchaff and Garden Warbler, occasionally all three at the same time.
On one pool a Grey Heron stood motionless in the reeds as Mallard, Coot and a Little Grebe swam around. Lovely spot for an exercise walk.

Wed - 2 or 3 Redstart singing, also 2 whitethroat, 2 willow warbler & at least 1 linnet. 2 chiffchaff foraging, 1 grey heron, 1 moorhen & 2 coot (on different pools). 2 fledged blackbirds & 1 male carrying very large worm, 1 Blackcap at nordrach.

Redstart again, close to where it was on 10th. Didn’t see the little grebe, but there is a lot of vegetation to hide in, there was a moorhen though, which I have also seen before.

Little grebe on the far pond again today.

Blackcap, whitethroat, willow warbler & linnet were all giving good views whilst singing.

Singing redstart & willow warbler, along with a pair of bullfinch, amongst the usual suspects.

Grey heron on one of the ponds, which was also there last Friday, but didn’t see the little grebe again. Odd coot & mallard, but teal that had been photographed earlier in spring seem to have moved on.
