Not an easy find at first, there must of been a thousand or more Widgeon, Teal and Shovelers and then they were all spooked by a Peregrine, the search started again this time he was more observable but very distant. (Friday 3pm ish)

The drake Garganey was still present this afternoon, well out in front of the hide, sleeping among Wigeon at 16:00 hrs.
12:30 : A stunning Male Garganey appeared in front of the main hide following an unsuccessful Peregrine attack which put most of the remaining ducks up. It swam passed the open hide before disappearing off the left.
The female Peregrine then flew off to one of the pylon, disturbed the male who then flew around before coming back to mate with the female.
13:40 : A female Marsh Harrier flying fairly high and towards the hides, suddenly dropped down and caught a duck. Even under the watching gaze of Ravens and Crows the Marsh Harrier was able to eat most of the duck.
Courtship display from a pair of Redshanks. Lapwings also participating in their aerial display
Kestrel seen hunting along the fence poles.
Still plenty of Wigeon, Teal, Shoveler but no Pintail. Also a healthy number of Gadwall
