The Great Grey Shrike has been entertaining several birders over the weekend including myself ranging all over the lower combe of Room Hill and in typical Shrike fashion can go missing for long periods, I was fortunate enough this afternoon to locate it fairly quickly and it gave good views
Earlier on Hurlstone Pt we had a Black-throated Diver head east , 3 Red-throated Divers a Kittiwake and 3 Auk sp.
A Firecrest was in Bossington overflow car park and the wintering Common Sandpiper was near the sailing club at Wimbleball late afternoon
Great Grey Shrike seen this afternoon at Room Hill Exmoor SS858363 first in the combe then it flew NE on Lyncombe hill above Curr Cleeve but could still be seen through the scope from Room Hill
Earlier at first light off Hurlstone Pt 36 Red-throated Divers were noted all heading West , this winter has been a poor showing for the Divers as we normally get much bigger counts for this month though big numbers of around 200 were seen recently further West off Hartland Pt Devon
