Still two Siberian Chiffchaff present yesterday (26/01) as previously. Seemed to be fewer Common Chiffchaff… but I think they were keeping a low profile in the dull weather.

At least two Siberian Chiffchaff present near the settling beds on the northern side of the sewage works in Crewkerne on Christmas day morning. Also about 25+ collybita with many singing. The two tristis kept close together while foraging despite moving up and down the hedge/vegetation and coming into contact with other chiffchaffs. Both responded strongly to a recording of tristis song by moving high in a small tree together: one shivering wings and the other flicking wings and tail. No interest shown by the other chiffchaffs present. It was interesting to see how they moved and behaved as a ‘unit’ withing the larger body of chiffchaffs.
