The great northern diver must have read Alex’s report and felt guilty because it was showing really well this afternoon out from the sailing club.

Great Northern Diver still at the res this morning, not far out on the Axbridge side. Boy can this bird hold its breath, and travel far whilst doing so! No surprise it goes a few days at a time without being noticed!

GND and Scaup still present today, though this was the first time in 3 days that I’ve seen the diver, surprising how it can remain unseen for long periods. Also of note, a Coot with a white rump/uppertail coverts - a cautionary notice in case anybody else runs from one side of the res to the other suspecting they’ve found an American coot!
