Two hobbies Monday evening (12th) from the railway bridge, but no sign of the red-footed falcon.

Seen at the same location today between 11.00 and 12.30 (in the space between showers)

And still present this morning between 8.30 and 8.45. Perching on dead trees about 400 metres south of the old railway bridge. From the bridge, locate an old windmill and scan trees near there. It might well be visible from the car park as well.

Red-footed Falcon – 1st-summer female (or 2nd cal.yr)
Found very early this morning far eastern end of Ham Wall. Had disappeared by 07:00 then relocated 10:00 to 10:20 at back of Loxton’s Marsh, then disappeared again. Relocated 18:50 at far back of SW corner of Waltons, looking south from the main track on the old railway-bridge to distant line of small trees (some dead) at back of marsh below a very distant farrowed, brown earth field. Spent most of its time perched in one of the small dead trees, occasionally hawking back-and-forth over the fields at the back of the marsh. Still present here when I left it at 20:20 hrs.

Female seen briefly first thing (prior to 6am) at eastern end of Ham Wall. Then again feeding over Glastonbury Heath just before 7am.

James Packer saw it feeding over Loxtons Marsh at 1010.

So hopefully it will hang around for others to see.
