After hunting around the usual local hot spots for this species for a few weeks with no success, I was embarrassed but pleased this afternoon when a visitor to my holiday cottages in Westhay reported hearing one singing there. We both went to the paddock below my house and had good views of at least one and probably two birds. A good lesson-don’t neglect your local patch!
