I received the following from Doug Stannard ‘on Saturday morning I was travelling up to London by train and looking out of the window as usual - saw 5 cattle Egrets in a field west of Castle Cary. Looking at the OS map it would have been somewhere between East Lydford and Alford possibly around Lovington. It was the north side of the railway so should be able to be seen from the B3153 and certainly before you get to Clanville Manor.’ If anyone is in that area it would certainly be worth having a look.
