Enjoyed a fabulous morning at RSPB West Sedgemoor this morning on one of the RSPB Big wetland duck watch events. Highlight had to be be the perching Merlin no too from the hide/barn and certainly closer the Marsh Harrier and Peregrine. A great location and if you haven’t been on one of these trips it is well worth it.

I then went off to see the Cranes which were on the east end of Aller Moor.  However, while standing next to the River Parrett, a Merlin nearly took my head off as it came through chasing a small bird. It headed off in the direction of West Sedgemoor. Two birds on the same day. I was very happy.
