The bird was very approachable this pm - on the concrete pathway some 20 - 40 metres west of the vehicular gate just beyond the row of cottages. Also 23 Brent Geese offshore - 21 pale-bellied and 2 dark-bellied.
Both the snow bunting (feeding on the path just past the first gate) and a female-type black redstart by the drain outlet were still there at 13.40. No sign of any purple sandpipers at Hinkley, but the tide was on way out by then. 10 pale and 1 dark-bellied Brent geese were on the sea.
A Snow Bunting this morning at Stolford on the concrete roadway, 100m west of parking area and just past the gate. On my return from Hinkley Point it was still in the same area but had been joined by a Black Redstart. Also a Chiffchaff calling there.
At Hinkley only 1 Purple Sandpiper on the water intake tower, an adult Med Gull on the outfall and 122 Pintail on the sea.
