This afternoon 3 whinchats, 2 wheatears, a flyover yellow wagtail and a hobby briefly pursuing a kingfisher near the flash, which is still rather full of water, so no waders at the moment.

A selection of waders on the flash flood along Tealham Moor Drove this morning 10:00 to 11:30. Ruff 2, Greenshank 2, Common Sandpiper 1, Green Sandpiper 1, Wood Sandpiper 1, Snipe 4. Also 3 Whinchats along the western end of the Drove with a flock of Linnets. Most of the waders were spooked by a low flying Hobby and flew off about 11:10 leaving the Green Sandpiper and the 4 Snipe. Otherwise 2 Ravens mobbing a Kestrel and at least 3 Buzzards.

I wonder what time that was, Alison.
I arrived at the pools on Tealham Moor Drove at - I think! - about 0940 and finally picked out 3 Green and 1 Wood Sandpiper (+ 2 Snipe along the far side).
The Green Sandpipers upped and left quite high towards the NE at about 1010 but the one Wood Sand (+Snipe) were still there when I left about 1020.
No Whinchats for me today.

Wood Sandpiper present this morning, joined by a second one, both flew off fairly high and hadn’t returned after half an hour. Also a distant Yellow Wagtail, another seen better yesterday at the Jack’s Drove end.

Thanks for the posting Dave. Went to the far western end of Tealham Moor Drove mid afternoon (17th) and soon saw an immature Whinchat with 2 Stonechats and a Wheatear.
