So finished and with some time to kill I decided to go here, mainly to hunt for Dartfords. After getting to the end I initially confused my east’s and wests!
Anyway mainly followed the directions in the forum….however not knowing the site it was largely follow my nose and try to find appropriate habitats.
Followed the easy path then headed off into the woodland briefly and heard a lot more than I saw….
Treecreepers
Goldcrests
Marsh tits
Willows and chiffchaffs
Merlin app suggests Redstart but as the sonography hasn’t saved….ill be annoyed as I’ve never had good views

Headed back up the hill out of the woodland area towards the beacon, it seemed breezier than when I left the car, managed to spot plenty of pairs and juvenile stonechats quite a few meadow pipits and limits,  but sadly no Dartfords.

Absolutely gorgeous site though there
Back to hams wall tomorrow before heading back to Derbyshire
