On the 2-June-2025, there were 4 distantly churring Nightjars on the Mendips site, but none seen from our static postion.

There were 4 churring Nightjars on the Somerset/Devon border of the Blackdown Hills yesterday evening. 1 started churring at 09.43 in trees at the northern end of Sampford Common and within minutes 2 more started churring in private land to the east, 1 individual visible perched up in a small conifer tree. All these areas are on the Somerset side of the border. I could also hear 1 from the Black Down Common direction which is on the Devon side.
