Usual trio of BN grebes were back south side today, but coot numbers seemed down again, with only 2m, 1f tufty, 9m, 5f Pochard. Grey wagtail pair feeding again
I also saw the shelduck, but yesterday there were 2m,1f teal in same area. Pair of grey wagtails today (only 1 yesterday).
No BN grebes nor scaup yesterday either
No sign of any scaup or BN Grebes this morning. Most of the coot and pochard have also left. Only new birds were 2 shelduck, and they also flew off at 11.30!
Six black-necked grebes on the water this afternoon including one in almost full summer plumage. I was told that there were another 2 round by the Cheddar Entrance.
Little gull late afternoon along with mating pair of goosander, also 1 little grebe plus the usual black-necked and scaup
1 imm m scaup by axbridge entrance, separate to the other with 4 f at SW side, where 2 BNG were also (first scaup was still there when I’d walked all the way around; one of grebes is starting to get golden tufts). At least 1m & 3f goosander, although they were flying about. Pair of Canada geese, but fewer coot, tufties, Pochard and GC Grebes than start of month - latter starting to display
Two black-necked grebes still near sw of the reservoir, and 5 scaup (1 drake). 2nd winter med gull in the large flock between cheddar tower and sailing club.
Not much change today. 2 BN Grebes still near Sailing Club. Third bird in southwest corner. Also 2 well marked scaup near Cheddar Tower.
Just 2 BN Grebes by Axbridge tower, 4 Goosander and 2 Scaup also present.

30th January nice walk around Cheddar Reservoir
3 BLK N Grebes, female Goosander, Grey Wagtail, 3 female Scaup, Chiffchaff and Goldcrest. Large numbers of Black Headed and Common Gulls coming into roost around 3.15pm
Enjoyable walk round Cheddar Reservoir this afternoon. 6 chiffchaffs on the east side & 1 by the sailing club, a male grey wagtail nearer the Axbridge gate, 2 black necked grebes on the west side & the other one further along with a female goosander near it and 1 juvenile male and 4 female scaup at the SE end
Three BN grebes together today just south of Cheddar Tower. Third bird probably been there since Saturday (suspected by Andy M. and Sean D). A couple of mobile scaup still. Significant numbers of BH gulls had flown in by 3.30.
