Meadow Pipits are absent from my monthly sightings list as well despite visiting Tealham, Huntspill sea wall and Catcott Lows on several occasions and going to Arne in Dorset this month. I am also short of Lapwing which is equally surprising. No sign of them anywhere on the Avalon Marshes this month.
A walk around Tealham this morning produced:
Kingfisher x 1
Yellow Wagtail x 2
Whinchat x 2
Common Sandpiper x 1
Lapwing x 1
Linnet x 17
Goldfinch 1ad 4 juveniles
Reed Bunting 2 females
Starling 100+
Swallow 10+
Sand Martin 3
House Martin 1
Gt Tit 1
Robin 1
Wren 1
Chiffchaff 1
Mute Swan 36 (largest group 15)
Mallard 20 (put up by a running herd of cattle)
Wood Pigeon 2
Gt White Egret 1
Cattle Egret 1
Kestrel 1
Buzzard 3
Unfortunately no Skylark, Meadow Pipit or Stonechat, most unusual.
