Eight European Cranes NE over Cary Marsh NR at 15.50. They then returned as if to land in set-aside by the marsh. Having circled at low altitude headed S and appeared to land beyond Dimmer Landfill. They passed directly overhead and I could not detect any leg rings. One individual had an injured leg (hanging down), no rings on the leg. However, with the introduced birds wandering, may have been a group from the Levels. I searched south of the landfill but could not relocate them.
