A visit to a couple of combes on the Quantocks produced :

12 + Pied Flycatchers
2 Wood Warblers - seemingly very scarce this year
1 Redstart
1 Lesser-spotted Woodpecker which called and landed briefly in a tree in front of me!
3 Great Spotted Woodpeckers
1 Green Woodpecker
2 Tawny Owlets - interestingly in the same tree as a GS Woodpecker nest (will post a photograph of the owlets on the website)
1 Dipper
4 Grey Wagtails

Levels

37 Whimbrel in a ploughed field just SW of Westhay car park - they were constantly calling to each other - a beautiful sound!
20+ Cattle Egrets - distantly fron Totney Drove
7 Cattle Egrets - close to the North Chine Drove road
