Parked up at Dawn on Dunkery Beacon to find about 130 Golden Plover in the heather about 200 yards away. Heard them first but had to wait for a bit more ligth before I coulf locate and photograph them. It’s amazing how quickly there move almost unseen through the heather.
Later on the sky was full of the sounds of spring from the Skylarks and Meadow Pipits. Seemed to be Skylarks everywhere in the sky and Stonechats everywhere on the ground.
All went very quite when a Peregrine went through at low level. First time I have seen a Peregrine flying low across the open moor.
Raven Pair also displaying on another part of the moor.
Also excellent views of the Red Deer including a couple of young stags locking antlers while a much older stag looked on
and finally the sunrise was superb!
(Will post a few images on Flickr later)
