It was a nice evening so decided to go to Catcott (looking for Hen Harrer). Just widgeon and 2 very distant marsh harriers courting. On approaching Catcott around 5pm on the corner where the horses are in the little paddock there were 2 female N.Wheatears. They were flying back and forth to the metal barrier on other side of road and were dropping down on the straw in the horse paddock. They also took off up the road towards Burtle where the bales of hay covered in black plastic on the left in the open barn. When I left Catcott I couldn’t see them at all. A pleasant unexpected surprise to see 2 very early Summer visitors from central Africa.
