I went out to see the 12 metre tide this morning and started at Burnham/Brue estuary. Big numbers of Redshank, Turnstone and Curlew on the far bank but nothing unusual. I then went to Berrow and met Paul Gay who had seen a pair of Beardies in the reed bed beyond the golf course. Fortunately Beryl (who first found them) and Brian Slade were able to point me to where they were. Returning home in spring sunshine I heard my first Chaffinch in song and saw a Brimstone in my garden.
