Yesterday there was a Common Sandpiper at Wimbleball Lake, in the Sailing Club bay. There was one there last winter so presumably this might be a returning bird. This morning I saw another Common Sandpiper at the western end of Porlock Marsh. The last one that overwintered here was 2016/2017. Perhaps this is a sign of Exmoor’s milder winters?
