Hello Alan, this is a area of France I know, we were there in spring and again in September, Besne is close to the Brière Regional Natural Park an extensive marshland area, good birding for any one interested, Saint Lypasrd isa good location for anyone thinking of visiting, very picturesque. View of the Marshlands from Breca.

On the second of this month I was made aware of a ringed G.W.E. seen on 30th. Sept on the Westhay reserve. I looked at a back of camera shot taken by Nigel Marshall and saw the following ring sequence on its legs:-          YELLOW above metal on Right TIBIA               GREY above WHITE above Dark GREEN on Left TIBIA
I contacted the French colour ring co-ordinator and have just received his reply.
Hello Alan,
Great!  So GrWG/Y = metal ring CA 83754 ringed as young in a nest on 16/5/2019 at Besné (Loire Atlantique, France), this is its first sighting.
Regards,
Loïc
So this bird is only five months old and has made a journey in a straight line of about 450 Km.
It is from the same area of France where our original one of the 1st Uk breeding pair ( Orange over Pistachio) came from in 2010.
Lets hope it also settles in the UK.
