3 Nightjars yesterday evening (17th) at a regular site on The Mendips: 2 churring males 80m apart (one seen in flight) and a female twice seen insecting some 150m away.
And at least three on a regular site on the Mendips this evening.
It is great to read your post. Good to know they are back this year up on the Mendips.
One of my favourite summer visiting birds

3, possibly 4, males churring during a walk 9-10pm on the Quantocks. 1 seen, and also two females, one of which landed on the path about 20m from me.
