I only saw one Whooper today on Noah’s Lake Shapwick but the Webs counters saw that 3 were still present around 10a.m. presumably they will move off north soon?. A pair of Goldeneye and 2 Kingfishers together with around a total of 1,000 wintering duck (mostly Wigeon and Tufted) are still in attendance plus 2 Booming Bittern neaby

Two Whoopers still at the back of Noah’s from the hide yesterday morning partly hidden amongst the reeds.

3 Whoopers still on Noah’s Lake Shapwick Mon. 22nd. as were 3 Goldeneye 1 Male , 2 Fem.

All 10 Whooper Swans still on Curry Moor ,one adult wearing a metal ring.Numerous other wildfowl inc .c.100 Pintail.Also 3 Ruff and A Peregrine .

There were also 2 Whooper Swans at Shapwick this afternoon and the Glossy Ibis flew across Meare Heath at 5pm heading from Ham Wall towards Noah’s Lake. Also a Bittern booming and a GWE flew into Meare Heath scrape. One male and 2 female Marsh Harriers seen so an interesting end to the day.

Much quieter around the Burrowbridge area than a couple of weeks ago, far fewer wildfowl and no winter swans.

On the way home though we came across ten Whooper Swans with Mute Swans on the edge of flood water just north of North Curry.  Also a Med Gull with the loafing Black-heads.
