A single Shelduck asleep with Wigeon and Teal on the muddy bank in front of the hide at Greylake RSPB this afternoon.
Also 2 Peregrines (M & F on size) hunting in tandem, but still failing! Still present 4 GW Egrets, c.150 Blk-t Godwits, 3 Marsh Harriers, and a large distant flock of c.1,000 Golden Plover together with 30 Dunlin and single Curlew.
~A drake Shelduck arrived at Catcott from the east yesterday (Mon,) early p.m. Not often seen her but in fine breeding plumage. Still good numbers of Wigeon, Teal, Shoveller and a dozen Pintail with the usual small number of Tufted, Gadwall and Mallard. Plus one Blk. Wit. Water level is just about low enough to encourage any passing early waders to drop in.
