A colour ringed Little Egret has been seen in the fields just South East of the Westhay Moor Reserve, on two occasions, on the 6th Jan this year and again recently on 4th. of April.
Colour rings are   GREEN on right tibia with white letter J. and RED on left tibia with black letter L.  It’s also carrying a metal BTO ring GR08281 but you will be lucky to see that!
For those who see it the following info was received today
This bird was ringed as a nestling (unsexed ) at Besthorpe Gravel Pits Newark.  Notts. on !st. June 2013 that’s 1768 days ( up until the 4th.April.) I make the distance from its ringing site about 260 Km . So lasting well and well travelled.
