You’ve probably seen hawfinches now but I’ve seen at least seven in Stockhill Forest near Priddy recently and am thinking of going back in the hope of crossbill. Frankie

Has anyone seen any hawfinches towards the Cheddar/Mendip end of our county? I feel like I’m really missing out on the Hawfinch influx that seems to be happening this year, as I havent seen one yet and all the sightings seem to be a bit further south.

Should I make the trip further afield for my best chance of finding one, or could anyone point me in the right direction closer to home?
