Hello everyone!,
I am a young birder, currently in New Zealand. I haven’t always lived there though, and next December my family and I will be visiting the motherland for Christmas… Very exciting!
Somewhere along the way I accidentally became a bit of a birder and so I would love to take this opportunity to see some of the local avifauna. We will be staying somewhere around the Wedmore area (not sure, my UK geography is a bit shoddy!) and I already plan to be visiting Shapwick Heath and some of those sort of places as much as possible, as well as simply taking my binoculars everywhere of course!

So…. I’d love to get some local knowledge in advance! Where are the best or most accessible spots to see birds? Ideally they’d have a bit of tourist appeal as well as I won’t have a UK drivers license and will have to convince my non-birder family to drive me there ! 😊

And in return, if you are ever in New Zealand I’d be honoured to maybe show you around!
