A brief visit yesterday lunchtime produced a Kingfisher in front of the hide on a reedmace head, A Bittern in the reeds in front of the hide, that flew off high towards Westonzoyland, a Great White Egret, Reed Warbler, Calling Chiffchaff and a hover hunting Kestrel, plus the usual Buzzards, Mallards. Little Egrets and Moorhens.
Earlier I’d seen 6 Golden Plover flying around a field near Butleigh, so the large flocks on the Levels aren’t far away! 😊
