Couldn’t find a Black Tern on Noah’s when I arrived just before 1 p.m. but ac Little Tern was distantly viewable both in flight and perched as was one Common Tern. Apparently there were up to three commons together during the morning! A single Common was also in front of VP2 Ham Wall mid morning when I was looking for the missing presumed moved on Pratincole.
I note that Birdguides are reporting a Little Tern. The bird I saw was quite distant and on reflection could well have been a Little Tern. It did look small against a BH Gull. Apologies if I got it wrong but at least it alerted someone to take a closer look.
Surprisingly quiet in Shapwick this morning at 08.15. I wonder why? One Wigeon near the bridge in the NE corner of Noahs and a Black Tern feeding along the back (west ) side. One Bittern flight seen.
