Cheddar was excellent today with 3 Grey Phalaropes, 15 Curlew Sandpipers, 2 Little Stints, 2 Knot, 20 Ringed Plovers, Dunlins, Common Sandpipers, BLK T Godwit, 2 Black Tern and Artic Tern, 3 Glossy Ibis’s, Spotted Flycatcher in trees near the yachting club and l think there was a male Lesser Scaup which appeared to be coming out of eclipse and was to far away to get a photo and l wondered if this was the same bird seen recently?
Phalarope came closer today, still curlew sandpipers and other waders, little and black terns. Julian found a lesser scaup this afternoon and Andy had a red crested Pochard yesterday. “Only” 5 glossies for last couple of days
Grey phalarope added to other waders and terns today
As well as the black and little terns found yesterday by others, there were also my first 4 pintail of the autumn near Cheddar Tower and another yellow wagtail on the mud.
Also this morning: 57 great white egrets, 17 grey herons, 22 mute swans, 2 black-tailed godwits.
Cheddar Reservoir this morning : 7 glossy ibis, 1 curlew sand, 2 knot, 5 ruff, 3 snipe, 6 common sand, 20+ ringed plovers, 9 dunlin
Still plenty to report from 7.15 to 9.30 this morning. All seen from near Cheddar Tower.

Mid afternoon today, 7 Blackwit, 2 Common Sandpipers, 3 Curlew Sandpipers, 1 Dunlin, 7 Glossy Ibis, 40 Great White Egrets, 6 Ruff, 2 Snipe, 1 Ringed Plover
6+ snipe, what appeared to be at least 2 ruff, many egrets (great and little) and lots of ?sand martins at Cheddar tower early Saturday afternoon.
7 glossy ibis passed though this morning having been in Devon yesterday and now at blagdon lake. Wood sandpiper and ruff still present
Wood Sand still present today at Cheddar Tower, in the company of 7/8 Ruff. 4/5 Yellow Wagtails, 45+ Egrets, mostly Great, and 2 Clouded Yellow butterflies along the main bank, opposite the scooter park
More new stuff turning up almost every day (see ebird, although nothing more exciting than the wood sand), but Canada goose numbers have also doubled, still 1 black swan with 7 mutes, now 8 grey heron, 9 great and 7 little egrets. 1 sand Martin (mostly been house and swallows, with a few swifts, recently, as this morning)
Sean pointed out a common tern on far buoy (no.5) and green sandpiper near spit this morning (& he saw the LRP yesterday eve). 2 common sandpiper with the green, 4 great egrets today, with 3 little, and 6 grey heron. Black swan was leaving the 7 mutes to rejoin the Canadas. Linnets still feeding young by sailing club, 5 teal and sub ad GBB gull, but only 5 GC grebes
LRP and a rock pipit were photographed by cheddar tower this morning, but all I found this evening was a common sandpiper there. Looked like the sailing club had been out, as spit was bare, and a security car was patrolling around the edge. Black swan was back with 6 mutes, and a 7th was in the shallows, near the great and 2 little egrets, plus a grey heron. Canadas scattered around.
