But unfortunately it wasn’t there this morning :(
Sab’s still present this evening on the usual pool!
6+ wheatears and some turnstone there on Friday as well, possibly a whimbrel but it flew straight out from me without calling & there were curlew in the fields
Sabine’s Gull still present on pool south of kissing gate at start of sea wall this morning - also c8 Common Sandpipers, White Wagtail, Peregrine - total 38 species in all!
For my edited video of the juv Sabine’s Gull along the Huntspill Seawall (feeding & in flight) click on this YouTube link below…
Reported still present this morning, a tawny pipit has also been seen twice, possibly more, times in same area during past week
Many thanks Mike for the directions. I connected with the bird quite easliy; it was feeding close to the raised bank adjacent to the Parrett. Eventually it took off and flew high north towards Apex Park but I see that it returned to its usual area last night and again this morning. Hats off to any intrepid birder who ventured out today!
(A good selection of waders at Cheddar Reservoir as well: Curlew Sand, Little Stint, Sanderling, Greenshank & Ruff).

Per BirdGuides posting it was seen to fly north and dropdown into Apex Park at 13:12 today. Apex Park lake is frequented by lots of gulls and is easily accessible on foot from the car park off Marine Drive, Burhham-on-Sea. always assuming it stays there a while!
Nearest is entrance to sewage works from huntspill, otherwise clyce road off A38 beside the brue in Highbridge. It’s now alongside the parrett (same as yesterday, but west of where it was Sunday)
Yesterday’s single wigeon on the bigger pools has been replaced by a 5th gadwall
As it’s many years since I’ve visited the Huntspill area I wonder if some kind person would remind me of access and parking arrangements please?
Many thanks
Geoff

Juvenile Sabine’s Gull on a small pool just below Huntspill sea wall, north of the entrance to the sewage works. yesterday and today - found by James Packer, and ridiculously tame - see my phone video on Twitter! My 150th species for the patch!
