Didn’t find the glossies today & nobody else seems to have reported them (scotch that - 2 on avonbirding), but the whooper was much closer in the field opposite reserve entrance again
Mink were out on the ice at catcott & tealham
whooper swan is still near westhay but now in the big flock of mutes along the road to reserve (plus an Egyptian goose flying off) & only 2 glossies in field just beyond Lewis’s Drove junction
Three GI’s present this afternoon at 15:30 in Rhyne beside Westhay Moor Drove, south of road about 100m EAST past Lewis’s Drove turning (I assume the fourth was the one seen at Ham Wall today?). They allowed me to get pretty close! Also one Whooper Swan in field directly south of the Car Park.
4 Glossy Ibises this morning near Westhay NNR.
Large numbers of Cattle Egrets in the general area, probably more than 600
