Single Sand Martin with 4 Swallows south over Butleigh this morning. Also first sighting of a Little Owl for a while, in small orchard off Wood Lane.

a\While waiting in vain to see the Squacco near Long Drove yesterday at 1pm, a flock of around 10 hirundines flew over of which most were Swallows but at least 2 were Sand Martins. A Red Kite also passed over. The change in weather due may finally dry up the steady stream still around. No sign of Redwings or Fieldfares around Westhay yet.

At least 16 Swallows feeding over Tyning’s Farm near Black Down, Mendips this morning. Only expected species on the down including Stonechats, Skylarks and Mipits.

A small passage of Swallow`s heading south over Ash Priors at 1115hrs!
