Three Spoonbills in front of the Otterhampton hide yesterday.
Was there yesterday, don’t know about today, could be same bird moving around.
Juv is back between Weston super mare and clevedon again today - any sign on Exmoor?
I wonder if it’s the one that’s been around Weston / clevedon recently? (Reported on 2nd, 16th, 21st & 26th Jan with pics on avonbirding)
Juvenile Spoonbill again near the breach, Porlock Marsh. First sighting since 1st of January. Also male Merin seen in flight. Nearby by Lower Marsh Farm, Dunster, 2 Cattle Egrets(still scarce in West Somerset).
No sign of the Spoonbill this morning scoping from surrounding roads.
Still present this morning, first seen 10.30 but always distant and spends a lot of time asleep or disappears. Flushed at least twice by Pheasant shooters nearby along with most of the other birds on the Marsh. Best viewed by the small reedbed near the War Memorial looking towards the breach. It was near here I saw my first ever Marsh Water Rail. Pushed off a small spit by the rising tide it flew right in front of me.
Juvenile Spoonbill seen distantly this morning roosting at high tide on Porlock Marsh. Viewed from inland path to left of boardwalk looking towards sea. Met a local birder who first saw it on Christmas Eve.
