Pair of Raven on pile of soil in field off Compton Street, Butleigh this morning.

Diffuse flock of 73 Ravens flying west to east (towards Wiveliscombe) south of Chipstable, 7:35 this morning.  Quite a sight, in the clear morning sky, with several rolling, and many calling.

That compares to a previous record count, here, of 16 in 2019.

During the following hour or so, several pairs, and small groups flew west over Chipstable, so perhaps the main group split up, following an overnight gathering.  Insights from others welcome…
