Ant eruption/nuptial flight today - certainly from our garden. Fantastic display of Swift overhead - in excess of 30 birds.

Herring Gull appeared interested too.

Appears to be a good year for Swift in Ilminster. Approx 20 over the garden enjoying the late evening sunshine - great to see

3 Swifts over Bishop’s Hull today.  First of the year.  Also a kestrel hunting over Long Run meadow.

In Langport, first 2 swifts seen high overhead yesterday afternoon (May 7th). This morning (May 8th) in the warm sunshine at least 5 swifts back on territory and becoming quite vocal as they got reacquainted with their home. So great to see them back.

A single Swift among a large group of hirundines over Noahs Lake this morning. Hardly any ducks left apart from a few Mallards and Tufted Duck. Another visitor saw a flock of Whimbrel over early this am.
